Our Story

Some snippets from our time together so far...

16 March 2010

First Meet

We met when Hope started training at Golden Naga Martial Arts School. Our shared love of the martial arts became one of our first connections.

04 November 2017

First date

Our first date was supposed to be going to see Thor: Ragnarok on opening weekend. However, the theater was sold out so we decided to watch a movie at home instead.

20 January 2020

Proposal

Geoff proposed very informally. Despite his original plan to try to have a fancy and romantic event to lead up to proposing, in the end he couldn't wait and asked Hope in the living room of his apartment.

January 2020 to October 2021

Engagement

Our original plan was to get married on November 7, 2020, the closest Saturday to the three year anniversary of our first date. However, COVID-19 got in our way. As we didn't want to have a virtual wedding, we chose to delay until a time that we could have a celebration closer to what we both wanted.

Our Wedding

We will be celebrating with a very small group, because of COVID-19.

We don't have that many things that we need for our home, so we'd like to encourage you to help us have a fantastic honeymoon. Our official honeymoon will have to wait until things are better with COVID-19, so we can travel to a wonderful location, and your help will allow us lengthen our honeymoon and to have fantastic additional experiences, like fancy dinners, swimming with dolphins, etc.

23 Oct 2021 Main Ceremony

We are sorry to say that, because of COVID-19 concerns, we are being forced to keep our plans for our wedding extremely minimal. We wish that so many people could be there to help us celebrate, but the pandemic is just too out of control right now...

July 2022 Wedding party

So, in the long run, we are planning to hold a great shindig so everyone we would have liked to invite to our wedding can celebrate with us, after the pandemic is a bit more under control and we can all feel more comfortable letting our hair down (and taking our masks off). Right now, we are tentatively looking at July 2022 for the party.  If things change we will keep you informed!
